E-reserves are accessed through the MU Library Catalog (PILOT). You will need to have Adobe Acrobat loaded onto your computer to access e-reserves. The library also has an online guide to access e-reserves.
Books in the library can be located by searching the MU Library Catalog (PILOT), the online catalog. The library has a large collection of online books available through eBooks on EBSCOhost (formerly NetLibrary).
Find Journal Articles
Find journal articles in one of the many databases the library has. Not all of the items listed in these databases will be available in the library or online. You can use the Journals List to see what is available. If an article you want is not available, borrow it through interlibrary loan.
Find things other than Books & Articles
If you are looking for things other than books or articles, you can search the Teaching Materials Guide or the MU Library Catalog (PILOT). If you are looking for musical recordings (CD's, cassettes, or vinyl records) search the MU Library Catalog (PILOT).
If you need help with any aspect of the library or your research, please contact the Information Desk. The desk is located on the 2nd floor north of the library, but the librarians are also available by phone, 570-662-4671, and by email through the Ask a Librarian form. You can also chat with the Information Desk librarian on AOL Instant Messenger, screen name: NorthHallLibrary
Tell if the library has a particular journal, magazine or newspaper
Search the Journals List to see what journals, magazines and newspapers are available online or in the library. Check out the newspapers page to see what newspapers are in the library.
Write a Bibliography or Cite a Source
Use the links on the library's citation style guides page to format your bibliography or to correctly cite a source for your project. If you can't find what you need there, the library's Information Desk has copies of the style manuals for you to use.
Get materials the library doesn't have
Most any material the library doesn't own or is checked out can be borrowed through interlibrary loan. Access our interlibrary loan services online. For more information on interlibrary loan, see the Interlibrary Loan Service web page.
Get materials the library owns if I am enrolled in a distance education program
If you want any other materials, either owned by the North Hall Library or not, please request them through interlibrary loan. Once you have logged into interlibrary loan, select Request a Book for books and videos. Select Request an Article to request copies of journal, newspaper, or magazine articles, or ERIC documents. Students in the SL&IT program looking for materials that are assigned can order them through the Materials for SL&IT classes page. For more information on services to distance education students, see the For Online Students web page.
Get materials the library owns if I take classes at Sayre
Nursing students who are taking online courses or classes on the Sayre campus can make requests for materials in North Hall Library's collection by filling out an interlibrary loan form, and the requested materials will be sent directly to you. Please indicate on that you are "Sayre Student/Faculty" when you set up your interlibrary loan account, and note in the comments section of the ILL form that the materials that you are requesting are located in the North Hall Library collection.
Materials borrowed from North Hall Library must be returned at the student's expense. However, materials borrowed from North Hall Library can also be returned to the Beck Library during normal working hours, and they will forward the items to North Hall Library at no expense to the student.
Renew a Book or Other Library Material
Renew books and other library material, including books borrowed through E-ZBorrow, through the MU Library Catalog (PILOT). Renew interlibrary loan materials by logging into interlibrary loan and selecting "View/Renew Checked Out Items".

If these do not fix the problem, please contact the Information Desk and tell us what database you are having problems with and what error messages you are getting.
Make a Transparency
You can make color or black-and-white transparencies in the library by sending your file to one of the library printers. Insert your transparency paper in the printer before you release your file. If your transparency has a white strip of paper on it, insert the transparency so that the white strip is on top and at the back of the printer. Transparency paper is available at the Circulation Desk in the library.
