Find Books & Articles

  • We have many databases available. Some of the subject specific databases will go more in depth than the general databases.

Websites

Evaluating web sites:

  • Who wrote this and what are their qualifications?
  • Is there a publisher or organization sponsoring the site?
  • Why was this written?
  • Can you verify any facts or figures given?
  • Does it refer to other known reliable sources?
  • How current is the information?

Citing your sources

It is important to give proper credit to the sources you have used.  When you are using the databases, most of them will tell you how to cite the article you are viewing, but final responsibility rests with you to make sure it is correct.

  • This page gives examples of how different styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) cite sources.
