Getting Books

What we have:

• The MU Library Catalog  will tell you which books, sound and video recordings, etc. are available in the North Hall Library.

How you get it:

• As an online student, you can request that any of the items from the North Hall Library be sent to you by placing an Illiad Book Request.
• Make sure your Illiad account is set up to indicate that you are a Distance Ed Student/Faculty. This is done when you create your account and can be changed by clicking on "Change Personal Information" in Illiad and editing the "Distance Education Status" field.
• Please select 'Mail' as the delivery option and include your mailing address. This is done when you create your account and can be changed by clicking on "Change Personal Information" in Illiad and editing the "Preferred Book/Media Delivery Method" field.
• If the item is available, we will ship it to you within 24 hours of your request.
• Items will be sent to you by first-class mail

Due Dates and Renewals:

• Materials have a one month due date.
• Material that is owned by North Hall Library can be renewed once, for 3 additional weeks, unless there is an outstanding hold for the item. If you need the item longer, please contact the Interlibrary Loan office.
• You can renew materials online in the MU Library Catalog.

Returning Items:

• You are responsible for return postage.

What is available:

• Search WorldCat to identify books you want.

How you get it:

• Request items by filling out an Illiad Book Request.

• EZ-Borrow books have a 12-week due date and cannot be renewed..
• ILLiad item's due date are determined by the library we get the item from. Read the label on the item to determine the due date. Renewal requests can be made in ILLiad.

Nursing students who are taking online courses or classes on the Sayre campus can make requests for materials in North Hall Library’s collection by submitting an Illiad Book Request, and the requested materials will be sent directly to the student. Please indicate in the request that you are a distance education student or a nursing student at Sayre, and note in the comments section of the Illiad Book Request that the materials that you are requesting are located in the North Hall Library collection.

Materials borrowed from North Hall Library can either be returned to Beck Library during normal working hours at no expense to the student, or the student can mail the material directly to North Hall Library.
