- Global Gateway: World Cultures & Resources maintained by the Library of Congress; offers electronic resources on the nations of the world, with links to outside internet resources as well
- Country Studies From the Library of Congress, comprehensive ebooks on over 80 countries, covering History, Society, Environment, Economy, Government, Politics, National Security, related images. These books, written by teams of social scientists, are several hundred pages long; originally published by the Federal Research Division.
- World Digital Library offers primary sources from countries and cultures around the world, search by time, place, topic or type of item (photos, maps, books, etc.)

- Veteran's History ProjectThe Veterans History Project database honors all those military veterans and civilians who have been interviewed for the Veterans History Project, or whose personal accounts have been donated to the project. The collection is growing and the database will continuously add names as those individuals' donations are received and processed. Information contained in the database is based on participants' own reporting of their service history.
- Visualizing CultureVisualizing Cultures was launched at MIT in 2002 to explore the potential of the Web for developing innovative image-driven scholarship and learning. The VC mission is to use new technology and hitherto inaccessible visual materials to reconstruct the past as people of the time visualized the world (or imagined it to be). Topical units to date focus on Japan in the modern world and early-modern China.
